Martack installed central air conditioning for me, with a unit tucked into my attic. They chose the location up there.

For 10 years, no one has been in the attack near the unit. They come yearly to do pre-opening maintenance and get me started up. A few years ago, there was water running out of the vent in the nearest bedroom. This destroyed a dresser, ruined all the pictures on the wall, was a mess. They came and fixed it at no charge being I was under contract. It was a broken drip pan.

How did it get broken when only their techs are up there?

Now in the summer of 2012, again, water pouring out of the vent, ruining another piece of furniture, the pictures, etc.  Martack comes and says its due to condensation and they cant do anything until the weather gets cooler. So what do I do in the meantime, have pots collecting gallons of water.
When it does cool down, I all them again, and another tech says its the drip pan again. This is what I thought all along but the first dummy said no.  Now they no longer have contracts that cover parts, etc. so we have to pay for it.

We agree upon a price with an employee that is no longer there. Another tech comes and this guy is actually honest and truthful. He says yes, the techs had to break it as there is no other way for this drippan to  break, and furthermore, they hold onto the unit to get around it and made it unlevel. He fixed the problem.

Now Martack is billing us for more than agreed and my complaint is they should pay for what they damaged, as well as now I need to get a mold removal company in to get rid of the smell.

Not an honest company nor are they good. Employees leave. Rumor has it they are going into bankruptcy. A friend in the HVAC business, confirms this to me, wish I new this years ago.
