Martin Enterprises, Inc. Dba: Paradise Falls ripoff kept $400 as a cancellation fee when I cancel my reservations 4 months in advance dishonest ripoffs Morristown, Gatlinburg Tennessee
I was looking on the internet in September of 2002 for a cabin for our vacation in July of 2003. I came across the Paradise Falls cabin. I contacted Mr. Martin and got rates for the week. Mr. Martin called me a few days later and left a message on my machine saying it was wise to book in advance because he books up very quickly.
On September 19, I sent in $2,050 for a deposit on the cabin. The total was $4,078 for the week. I recieved documents several days later confirming my reservations.
In late March, I called to cancel my reservation due to surgery that I had to have. Mr. Martin informed me that he did not have a refund policy. He never told me this at the time of reservaton, nor was it stated on the documents. He did say that he would try to rerent the time, if he could he would refund my money less $400.
I had not heard anything from him, so I got a friend to call and act like she was intrested in renting the cabin. He told her he had no space available in July or August. When I got my attorney to call, he said he had not rented the time.
After several attempts and after 2 months I finally recieved $1,650. of my deposit. This man is a liar and a crook, if you see this cabin on the internet, DO NOT put your money down unless you want to get ripped off. He dodged my calls. I called 5 times one day and got his answering machine. Two minutes later and I called from my cell phone and he answered! He is a Crook!!!
