Martin Lake Resort- Jerry Snow Uses deceptive tactics Ocean Springs Mississippi
I purchased a membership in Martin Lake Resort for $1500 with annual fees of $249. I paid for two years but only used the resort one time. After the 2nd year I wrote a letter to cancel my membership and forfeit my $1500.
I was then told that I could not cancel my membership but had to pay $249 every year forever and ever. I was no longer living in Mississippi but in South Dakota. I sold my motorhome so had no use for the resort.
They referred my account to Bayside Recovery (collection agency) and now claim I owe them $1371 in back fees.
I am 77 years old, no longer have an RV, had written them to cancel my membership and had agreed to forfeit the $1500 I had paid them upfront. They never told me about having to pay annual fees forever when I would not be using the resort.
I have refused to pay and they have turned in a collection report on my spotless credit. Equifax has done nothing really to remove it.

I failed to mention in my previous report that the membership I had purchased was for my Motorhome which I no longer have. Also Martin Lake will tell you that you can sell your membership with a transfer fee. I tried that but placing adds at the resort and in Good Sam Highway Magazine. I offered to sell my $1500 membership for as low as $500. I had several people interested, but as soon as they spoke with Martin Lake Resort people they backed out. I wonder why?? What did Martin Lake Resort tell them?? I think Martin Lake Resort discourages people from buying resales and tries to sell them new memberships. Buyer beware of Martin Lake Resort.
