Que Ron Hildreth gave a modified demonstration in the home of Monica Bennett, Long Beach, CA.

Attendees were a neighbor and friend of Ms. Bennett.

Ms. Hildreth spent most of her time on phone talking to friends and made no effort to close a sale. An attendee was interested in some fragrance. Ms. Hildreth said she did NOT have time to take care of the order.

Ms. Bennett had insisted that a neighbor attend as she had purchased a ten dollar gift certificate for her as neighbor had done so much for her family.

Ms. Hildreth refused to take the order and refused to make contact before it expired.

The neighbor was reluctant to give credit/checks/cash to someone who was obviously not selling merchandise and had no verifiable business address on card or the net.

A letter to Richard R. Rogers, Chairman and CEO at Mary Kay resulted in a response from Krystal Winget, Senior Paralegal for the company.

Ms. Winget stated that "MS Hildreth is NOT and employee or agent of Mary Kay, Inc. Rather, she is a self-employed Independant Beauty Consultant...." In other words, IF a consultant commits fraud, scams, or avoids generally accepted business practice, the consumer is on their own. How sad that costly legal fees would be necessary for victims. In this case, the victim is a 70 plus year old person in a wheel chair.

IRS should be interested as the trip to Long Beach was not intended to conduct business when it was only to visit with an alleged friend.

Law enforcement should be interested as it was clearly a scam. Ms. Bennet was scammed out of $l0 as well as the neighbor for whom it was intended.

It is not unreasonable to expect business persons to have verifiable addresses when entering homes and soliciting money.

More questionable is the fact that both Ms. Hildreth and Ms. Bennett allegedly attend the same church. Neighbor was invited, but they could not give an address as the services float from one place to another.

I would suggest ALL persons be very careful when dealing with persons with Mary Kay Inc.
