Mass Music Mobile dj service is run by a compulsive liar who thrives and makes money off of those he hires to fill in for him, but never intends to pay.
I was hired to fill in for Samuel Shepard at the Brazenhead pub. I did the gig.
Afterwards the Bar manager warned that I may not see my money and that he has a nasty habit of hiring people to "fill in" for him with out any intentions on paying them. I wanted to give the guy the benefit of the doubt. After being avoided, lied to, wasting my money on going to the gig in the first place I was never paid. The large sums of money Mass Music demands for their services and weddings should go to pay the DJ's that actually do the events; Not with this company. The DJ's Never get paid!
People need to be aware that the company they are choosing to spend their money with has no ethics, and their business practices are the worst I have ever witnessed.
I soon learned that this company is very hard to find if you have complaints or problems.

Mass Music Mobile DJ's is a professional entertainment service providing entertainers in the Tri-State area since 1997. The owner of Mass Music Mobile DJ's is correctly spelled Samuel Shepherd. Mass Music Mobile DJ's has NEVER had a single complaint regsitered with the BBB since their opening.
Around mid-July of 2008 I contacted Scott Coffman via cell phone to inquire about possibly covering a show at Brazenhead Irish Pub in Mason, OH. This was due to the fact I had to terminate an employee the previous weekend for theft of equipment from the Brazenhead establishment. A police report was filed with the Mason Police department immediately. Scott agreed to provide a DJ for the evening at Brazenhead Irish Pub.
Mass Music Mobile DJ's DOES obtain a profit from disc jockeys that provide services with company provided equipment. We are a fully functioning business and obviously we intend on generating profits from our staff.
The bar manager at Brazenhead Irish Pub the date of the show, Clay Allen, just happened to be very good friends with the employee that I had terminated the previous week for theft. The employee, David Day a.k.a. DJ Goden, had money withheld in lieu of the theft. Coincidently the security video was LOST and the equipment was never found. So when Clay Allen was the manager the evening when Scott Coffman was asked to cover there is no suprise in the fact that he lied about any intentions of being paid by Mass Music Mobile DJ's. I would also like to note that payment of services for the evening that Scott Coffman was contacted to provide for were the responsibility of the venue, Brazenhead, and not Mass Music Mobile DJ's. Mass Music Mobile DJ's DID NOT provide anything to Scott Coffman for the event to be covered. Clay Allen and the GM at Brazenhead Adam William were terminated for their improper procedures.
The fees requested for Mass Music Mobile DJ's to perform services at events is at the sole discretion of the purchaser to decide if the value exceeds the expectations. During our 10+ years of service we have perfomed at 1000's of events with no complaints on file. We also have plenty of feedback and comment forms completed by our clients to support this claim. Our staff is compensated accordingly to length of service and quality and while we are not able to pay DJ's absurd amounts as compared to similiar services this is merely because we function by the laws of our profession. We DO NOT download music, we are insured, we pay taxes. Most "DJ" companies are fly by night and do not assume these practices whcih allow them to pay absurd amounts of money to their respective DJ's due to the fact they have cut their expenses illegally.
As far as being accessible we have had the same owner and phone number for over 10+ years of service. Our address has changed onl twice in that time as well and it is ALWAYS been listed at the BBB website for easy viewing.
Brazenhead NEVER paid Scott Coffman so I eventually paid him anyway despite it not being my responsibility. I felt he was cheated by Brazenhead through no fault of his own so I CHOSE to make it right out of respect. This form was completed by Alecia, his wife, out of frustration without knowing the facts at hand. I hope this is a complete enough response to the improper information included in this report.
