This is unacceptable business behavior, this clinic can not tell their customers that they are buying one thing and they sign them up for something else. Contract or no contract, the paper I received I was not told it was a contract I was told it was for practice purposes like if I receive a massage I will not hold them accountable if something happens, etc. and when my payment would come each month. Either way its their job to inform me of what I am signing and if it was something I was concerned with I would have fully read page by page, but she told me it was no big deal and that its just standard practices. In Washington there are laws against this type of business its referred to bait and switch which I am sure you are well aware of.

Same Happened To Me

The same thing happened to me when I went to the Puyallup Massage Envy. I was asked to join the membership program & told that it is a month to month & if I needed to cancel for any reason to give them a 30 day notice in writing & it would be cancelled.
I had some hard financial times over the winter & called the Puyallup Massage Envy, saying that I wanted to cancel & was told that I would need to come down to fill out the cancellation paperwork. After I got there, they told me that I had actually signed a contract not for 12 months, but for 12 massages. If I wanted to cancel, I had to pay the full price of however many massages I had not used, at the full price (I believe it was 8 I had left), which was just shy of $500.
Of course, now that I think about it, I should have read the contract from the beginning but the fact that I was told something different, gave me enough reassurance to not feel the need to read it. I ended up paying the money to cancel but I do agree that they need some better management & probably some better training. (Although I didn't know you needed to be trained not to lie!) Good luck to you & my advice in the future is always read through every contract you come across, no matter who it is.
