In March I informed Massage Envy that I would not be renewing my one year membership in May. My main concern was that the automatic monthly debits stop in May and how my unused prepaid massages would be handled. I was told that I needed to sign some paperwork that day. I was told that I had prepaid for the massages, they were mine, and I could use them whenever I wanted to. Because they were so helpful in answering my questions I left there feeling very good. Yesterday, I called to schedule a massage. I was told that I was no longer a member and that my prepaids had expired. I asked to speak to the manager. He informed me that the paperwork I signed clearly stated that I only had until June 1st to use my prepaids. He offered to send me a copy of this so I'm guessing that it was somewhere on the paperwork. The paperwork and what they told me were in total conflict. Needless to say I feel totally cheated and tricked, I would have used my massages that I had paid for if the manager in March had not told me I could use them anytime. Don't believe anything they tell you, read every bit of the small print.

Read the Contract!!!

I worked for Massage Envy about a year ago and I heard stuff like this ALL THE TIME. The fact is that no one is EVER forced into signing the contract, we give you 3 days to read it over and over and over if you want. Then cancell if you see something you do no like. Everything is stated clearly in there, how to cancell, when you can cancell, what will happen to prepaids if you cancell. Why do people continue to blam the company because they lack the ability to properly read a simple contract. People never take the time to read it, even though Massage Envy employees are trained to state clearly "YOU HAVE 3 DAYS TO READ OVER YOUR PERSONAL COPY OF THE CONTRACT, IF YOU FIND ANYTHING YOU DO NOT LIKE PLEASE CALL US AND WE CAN EXPLAIN OR YOU CAN CANCELL." If you fail to do this and then complain and call it a scam a year later that is your own fault. No one tried to trick you into anything, you were just too lazy to read the contract, and I definitely do not remember and "fine print" its all clear and not hidden. In fact, while your signing the contract each line is explained to you clearly. Maybe people should try listening more often. I can't tell you how many times people came in yelling and screaming about their contract only to be shown exactly where they signed on something, then claiming no one told them this!?!?! We give you the exactly copy that you signed, what do you mean no one told you?? Its your own responsiblity to know what your signing and agreeing to.

Every massage envy is different

This was my main complaint with this company. They not only treat the therapists differently at each massage envy, they treat customers differently. The massage envy I used to work at actually completely cx all of your massages once you cx membership. The fact that this massage envy gave you any time at all to use them afterwords is nice. You might be able to go into another massage envy that is near you and they will still let you use them. I dont know how many you are around, but all the massage envys actually compete against eachother. The more your around the better. That massage envy wont like the idea that they lost a client to a different massage envy.
Let me know what happens. You shouldnt let down off of it
