Complaint Review: Massage Envy

I called in to cancel my membership. They wouldn't let me. I had lost my job and they wouldn't even put my account on hold EVEN THOUGH I had already completed my year membership. They continued to accrue charges and hit my credit card with $147 in charges once I had enough space for them to charge. Thus, overextending my credit and maxing out my card without giving me notice. When I called in- irate, the manage "Misty" was rude and condescending. She proceeded to tell me that she had "never lost a membership fee dispute and wouldn't start now" and also told me some things they had written about me in their system- inaccurate and offensive. Well, when I finally got the correct information to cancel, I scanned and emailed them my letter the next day. She said my dues were already being taken out since I had not gotten the letter to them in time. So I was charged ANOTHER $49. I have already filed a BBB report and will take further action if I need to.
