I recently traded in my 1997 Chrysler Sebring and purchased a used as is 2002 Honda Civic from Massey Yardley of Plantation SR7 through their, (as the business card reads), Special Finance Manager Bobby Barriento.

Paperwork was finalized for the trade in and new vehicle purchase on July 10, 2004. On July 13, 2004 I was contacted by the dealership advising that I had to immediately return the Civic I just purchased. Through rude and harassing phone calls I have since been advised that my trade in value was over-assessed and that I am unable to keep the car under any circumstances.

They now are attempting to persuade me into purchasing a new vehicle from their dealership that would entail longer financing for a greater cost at a higher interest rate. This will not suffice.

My credit was checked through Charter-1 and approved for the loan amount to purchase the Honda Civic in accordance with the trade in value originally assessed by the dealership upon purchase via Bobby Barriento. My car was test driven and inspected by the dealership to assess the value of the trade in. An amount was amicably established and the transaction was finalized.

I want the dealership to stop harassing and threatening me about returning my car. I do not owe the dealership any money. They are clearly attempting to take advantage of me as a young woman. They refuse to speak to my husband, who was there at the time of purchase and managed most of the loan term negotiations, including the trade in value and final cost.

The car is registered in my name. I have a loan agreement established. All the paperwork that involves the purchase of the vehicle has been completed for the agreed upon amounts. They are now attempting to modify the deal to their advantage.
