I signed up with Match.Com on Dec. 14th 2003. At first, I e-mailed a few people and recieved their replies without any problems. Then I began to notice that my outgoing emails had not been recieved. I emailed customer service. They said they didn't know why it was happening, maybe some kind of technical difficulty, and they would look into it. At least a week went by and no explaination, and the problem still existed. So I emailed again and told them I was paying for a service I wasn't receiving and told them to fix it or I would have to cancel my enrollment. Yesterday I received another email telling me how to cancel my enrollment and informing me that they do not give refunds.

I paid for two months of service and actually received about two weeks of proper service. They don't seem interested in explaining the problem, fixing it, or keeping me as a customer, let alone refunding my money. Any suggestions? I'm also reporting to the better business bureau.

THEY GIVE OUT YOUR CREDIT CARD INFO!!!

Hi! I just wanted to add that I tried Match.com a year ago, and after 3 weeks, I started getting charges from companies (primarily Magazine subscription companies) on my credit card!! I thought I was a victim of an internet hacker using me for ID theft, but I traced these UNAUTHORIZED CHARGES back to when I joined Match.com. They GAVE OUT MY CREDIT CARD INFO TO ALLLLL OF THEIR "3rd Party associates"!!!

Luckily, my credit card co. (Bank of America), refunded ALL the funds these companies STOLE from me, cancelled the compromised card, and issued me a new one free of charge, PLUS they took Match.com and the various 3rd party co.'s to court on their own.

I filed a complaint with Match.com with the BBB in Dallas as well. Because they refunded me for my 1 month subscription as an apology for the "inconvenience", the BBB filed it as a settled dispute on Match.com's account.

Since it's a year later and Match.com is bigger than ever, I guess the corporate lawsuit between them and B of A got as far as my BBB complaint did.

BEWARE of Match.com!!! Their privacy and security statements are BOGUS, and they are slow as mud in handling disputes!

Call your credit card company and file a fraud report against match!

You paid for service that you DID NOT recieve, so by definition, that is fraud!

Your credit card company wants you to be happy, of course, so let them fight for you!

Match is not bigger than the credit card company....
