The following sites claim to be "natural" or "scientific" methods of human baby gender selection. None has proof of its program's viability in the form of a legitimate double-blind control study published in peer reviewed scientific literature.

All claim very high success rates and charge anywhere from $18-$300+ for their "service." Any luck parents have had with them is entirely coincidental; these sites rely on anecdotal evidence and the naivete and ignorance of the general public. They are lying outright and profiting from it.

Here are the offenders:

Now, read what the legitimate medical and scientific communities have to say about human gender selection (I have other resources as well, if you're interested):

First, let me tell you that I know of no reliable "natural" method of sex selection. Considering that the sex of a child is determined by only one of the 100 million-plus sperm that start swimming toward an egg after ejaculation, you can see why no diet, activity or orgasm (or not) could influence whether a sperm carrying an X chromosome for a girl, or a Y for a boy, will fertilize the egg (or eggs).

Although both men cite long lists of evidence that they say support their theories, the medical establishment has long dismissed methods of sex selection as so much hocus-pocus. It is an attitude that extends beyond just Shettles and Ericsson, to include a universe of offerings -- the half-dozen other how-to books currently listed on amazon.com; the many money-back guarantees available on the Internet; the ancient Chinese birth calendar, which legend says has been buried in a tomb outside Beijing for 700 years. (By its reckoning, I should have had two girls.)

"They don't work, nothing works," says Dr. Alan DeCherney, chairman of the department of obstetrics and gynecology at the University of California at Los Angeles and editor of the medical journal Fertility and Sterility.

The Internet is a huge step forward for all, but it's a sad negative that anyone can profit from these type of unfounded and false statements without repercussion, since they have no funds to pay out if they loose in Court.

Keith from Massachusetts, who we can't trace, has not claimed to be a biologist or in the medical profession, or that he is a client. He has decided not just to voice an opinion but to accuse the company in such a libellous and cowardly way. I have worked for Materna SA since 1998. Our relationship with our mothers is excellent and they are not as Keith suggests "naive and ignorant" Many people have now researched their needs and use some form of natural therapy and trust in these more than in drugs (written about in big business sponsored medical magazines).

We charge $490 and at that price the-according to Keith- "naive public" are usually well informed before they purchase. The majority of our clients are Mothers with more than 2 children of one gender and they come to us because they have heard about our vital (to them ) service from other mothers.
Keith claims there is one person in the profession who says that "nothing works"- but there is no backed up public speech or statement. This Ripoff report has been live for 3 years and it looks as if Keith is a competitor. As on this website I can say anything I want without repercussion, I could say that Keith is a ********* and that the earth is definitely square even though I have no subtantiation of this at the moment. By placing an accusation that Keith is a ********* without risk of legal action, I am destroying his social life and job as that accusation is not easy to deny. Luckily for Keith I am not interested and he has no doubt already been paid. I,on the other hand, can subtantiate the word "cowardly", since he has attacked us and is not prepared to reveal his identity or any professional standing.

Dear All

I work in the medical profession in France and thanks to Babychoice I am the happy mother of Chloe aged 2 after three boys named Alexandre, Jean-Francois and Hubert! I wanted a girl and I TELL YOU, KEITH: It works.
I have done a lot of research on gender selection and I have no hesitation to recommand it to my friends several of whom had already babies of their choice.
Thank you Babychoice!

I am writing on behalf of a group of happy mothers.
We have used the Selnas method successfully as have many others delighted parents. This is a completely natural method recommended by many doctors and scientists worldwide. There is abolutely no case of fraud, rip-off or dishonest promises as the company offers a refund.
It works!
We find Keith's statement extraordinary. Has he personally tried all these methods or is he just trying to discredit?

First, I cannot speak for every site listed above.

Second, whoever made these false claims references a site in their complaint that recommends a proven medical procedure we also recommend.

I submit to the editor that this post be removed as it does not represent a true complaint and is probably a hoax.

Furthermore, we have no records of the person who filed the complaint ever ordering our product.

It appears as though someone was attempting to promote their site by degrading all similiar sites.

Sincerely,

Respond to this Report!
