The grant is represented as a Home Improvement Grant. They claim Congratulations! Your Home Improvement Grant with serial #US-CAN2008GRANT-08-BRN7231" was approved in category "A" of The Publishers' Clearing House grant paid to randomly selected applicants across U.S.A. and Canada.

Fraud -scam like many other similar scenarios using different company names. Note they have many brand name company logos on the back of the letter as endorsements, McDonalds, Home depot, Wal-Mart, best buy, etc..

I received via mail a check $2,745.50 and letter from Matrix Consulting Inc with instructions to call a specific number Dave Hafetz at 1-602-774-4592 in order to activate the claim grant.

Letter proposes 3 options in order to receive the claim amount. Most important is the instruction to send them tax/fees in the sum of $1,780.00 in order to receive the total grant sum of $13,500.00.

You are instructed to call for instructions, then cash deposit the check and send them the amount needed for taxes fees. They state that they will send you the grant amount after they receive money from you. This is a simple fraud scam designed to take your money.
