Complaint Review: Matthew Kerrigan

My husband is in the hospital out of state from home and got this guy as a roommate.  From the first I thought he wasn't even sick and I guess that's how it turned out, but in the meantime I got ahead of my intuition and gave him $160 to get me coupons for stays at Hilton Hotels.  He also offered Marriott. 

We were moved out of the room when the hospital became aware something strange was going on.  I tried for several days to get either my funds or my "coupons" and despite my trips back to the room, he always had some excuse.  Today I ran  his name on Google and found these reports.  Obviously the same man as he said he grew up in St. Petersburg (among other places)  I went up to the room and got there as they were going to discharge him and I called the police.  By the time they got there he had left the hospital.

What a jerk to prey on someone who has been in the hospital for 6 weeks.  If i'd listened to my intuition this wouldn't have happened. 

What really concerns me is that while in the room I had to cancel airline reservations and give my credit card number and other info and he heard it.  I have alerted the credit card company.

I hope this guy gets caught.  At least I have a police report on file in this area so they may be able to catch him.
