Any Independent Reps considering Sun Nano beware, as you will just waste lots of time and with no possibility of income.


In late July 2009 I responded to a Craigslist Ad for solar independent sales reps from the "Florida Regional Mgr" named Phil. We talked and I was informed to go to an agent sign up page and log in to become a sales distributor. The information displayed was to my liking -"welcome to our family...Sun Nano will do everything possible to support IR's marketing and sales efforts" etc.


I was slightly concerned that there was no executive level page on their web site, as well as no physical address, and BB record nor D&B record. However I was told by the Regional Mgr they were in business 2-3 yrs, and that solar Photovoltaic companies were newer to the industry than solar water heater companies as prices had come down.


Next I spent considerable time, full time each week to build my own sales pitch book, investigate and verify Federal solar tax credits and grants, Florida solar rebates and their budget, the solar industry, and financing. I was informed by Matthew Sarod that although CA had financing in place, that we in FL would have to find our own sources.


That was accomplished on several occasions. One for business leasing, and one for 12 months no payments through Lyon Financial. I forwarded this information to Matthew Sarod and was informed via email on August 18th that the business leasing, or lease with purchase option, looked good and he would get right on it. Never heard back from Matthew.


We also called and emailed Matthew numerous times about the 12 months no payment and that a Sun Nano authorized executive needed to apply. After about two weeks of no response I was informed by Phil that Sun Nano was denied as a vendor.


Meanwhile I had several prospects, and one signed agreement mailed to Sun Nano, and financing was now not going to be available as Sun Nano was denied.


During the 2 months or so I was learning the business, their bid tools were functioning and then not functioning so there was no basis for relying on the bid tools. This left me on the curb for 2-3 weeks not approaching any new prospects, business or residential because i could not rely on their bid tool. Additionally their Nano enhancement process, part of every bid we produced here in Fla, was discontinued without notice to the regional mgr of representatives.


There was lots more lack of communication, and the weekly conference calls were discontinued as well. There was suppose to be training available on line after the calls were discontinued, and that did not occur as well.


In essence, the organization and specifically Matthew, were totally non reponsive and non supportive, and were full of excuses for not executing what they said they would. The changing of their bid contracts without notice left us representatives looking like we didn't know what we were talking about or worse, that we were misquoting or misrepresenting.


The overall experience was frustrating and a complete waste of time, and unethical and misleading from Matthew Sarod himself.


Please do your self a favor and do not replicate my experience. The whole team here in Florida, about 5-6 of us, feel the same.
