Matthew Roofing is soliciting in Atlanta area for roofing jobs. The rep introduces himself as Joe Matthews as seen on the business card. He cashes checks with name Joe Stokes. All references are fraudulent.
The company collected money for work on a flat roof. When the roof continued to leak just days after the job I called "Joe". He agreed to come and inspect the work many times cancelling for reasons such as traffic, time, dark, etc. When I finally got somebody involved in asking him to 'make his appointments' he got intimidating and hung up on me and my contact.
I hired another roofer to look at the leak. The roof was not only not replaced but damaged further when "Joe" coated the old roof with paint to make it look like the work had been done in the event I climbed up to check and he attempted to slow the current leaks by tighening the decorative fencing bolts putting a larger hole in roof.
"Joe" cashed his checks for cash at a check cashing store in a liquor store in Doraville, GA. The name on the check was not signed Joe Matthews but Joe Stokes. Steve Stokes was a reference given. I have tried tracking down any one of the references, all lines disconnected.
I have filed a police report and will file a civil lawsuit once I learn of the correct name and address of this individual. The address on the business card is false. The email address goes unanswered and is likely false. All my leads have dead ends.
