I signed up for Max Fitness 7 day free trial in March at their Tower Rd. location. I was told that if I don't want to continue my membership, I could go on-line and cancel. When I tried to do so, the cancelation function on their web site was not set up. I called them on the last day to cancel to see what to do explaining I was leaving town for a week. Whoever answered the phone told me she would take my information and make sure it would be taken care of.

It's now July 28th and was contacted yesterday by a collection agency saying I owe $800+. I called the business manager at Max Fitness and rudely told me that I had been sent to collections and their is nothing she could/would do. She also said they mailed and emailed statements to me which I never received.

I'm a college student athlete playing for the nationally ranked #2 CSU soccer team and can't believe this company takes advantage of students/people like they do. You would think they would care as my fellow CSU athletes are always looking for good work out facilities in the off season. I am going to do my best to make sure Max Fitness is boycotted. CSU is big with social media and I am going to share my story.

I know ultimately it's my fault and I should have read the fine print and even more important, not believe or trust what I was told. I just think that treating young people this way, threatening to hurt my credit, is a really bad way to do business.
