Purchased 2005 Lexus SC 430. On line add showed photos of car. Spoke to Ben fisher, owner on dealership. He never mentioned that navigation did not work. I sent him cerified check for $27500 which he received in 2 days. Car was delivered about 2 weeks later. As soon as I started car I noticed navigation did not work. I took car car to Lexus of Tampa Bay and they informed me car did not have disk for nav. I bought disk,$190 and it did not solve problem. At this point I set up an appointment for problem. I call Ben to explain the problem and he explained that nav did not work but he though it would be disk. I have emails to prove everything I am saying. Lexus told me it would cost $1200 to fix. I told Ben that I would split the cost with him at $600 a piece and he agreed. I have contacted ebay and Ben to no avail. He claims to have sent the check 3 weeks ago. Still no check. By the way car also has a bent rim. He claims to know nothing about the rim. I have also contacted my attorney. This person should not be on ebay posting cars. I have all trhe emails whwere he admits to knowing the nav was not working.

Everything stated by Jim from Orlando is correct..but is not even the root of this problem.

What is the ROOT of this problem, is paying by certified check. Is there ANYWHERE on eBay motors that you can post...which shows a certified check is an approved form of payment?

Once you are suckered into payment in a form which is not approved by eBay Motors..you forfeit any form of protection they offer.

Now of course common sense should dictate to have a vehicle inspected..or to inspect it yourself rather then pay sight un-seen...but at the VERY least..if you are going to pay sight unseen..why not have the common sense to pay in a manor that can protect you? I would NEVER send ANYONE a check online for 10 dollars..much less almost 30 grand. What in the Lords name were you thinking?

Be thankful if the only problem with this vehicle is the Nav software.

Who Shouldn't Be On E-Bay???

Ah, you say this dealer shouldn't be on E-Bay selling cars???  Why's that?  Because he advertised a car which had problems but represented it as having no problems?  Is that the reason?  If you would have known this, would you have bought this car at the same price?

Tell me something...

You sent your money off to someone you don't know to buy a car you haven't seen or checked out.  You sent of $27,500 for this!  Incredible.

Should this guy have truthfully represented this car?  Absolutely!  100% absolutely!!!  But no one in their right mind would send their money off to buy a USED CAR, sight unseen in the first place, and then when they get screwed, they cry and whine it was the seller's fault.

You took all the risks when you went into this and you received what you paid for.  Next time buy a car you can actually see, actually test drive and actually have your own mechanic check out IN ADVANCE.  If you would have done this, we wouldn't be here now, would we?

Incredible!!!
