At Fry's electronics we purchased a maxtor MXT-L01P160 160GB Hard drive for $159.99. One of the factors for this was the $30 doller rebte offered on MXT-L01P160 160GB Hard drive. Purchase Date was Jan 2 2004 at 18:53 (6:53pm). We mailed in the rebate form the next day Jan 3 2004 and it went out with the days mail. On Feb 7 2004 we get a card in the mail from Maxtor rebate center thats says Dear Consumer: Thank you for participating in this promotion. Unfortunately we could not honor your request due to the following reason(s): Your purchase was not made within the required dates for this rebate.

We did buy the MXT-L01P160 160GB Hard drive with in the rebate dates and did send the rebate form in ASAP the next day. To the rebate center. We can no longer return the drive to Frys as it has been in the computer for over 30 days. We no longer have the UPC code as it has been removed from the box and Frys will not take it back with out a UPC code on the box. either way we are out $30 dollers. The Maxtor 1-888-241-6208 does not offer any help.

Working in IT I normaly buy over 250 (287 last year) Maxtor drives a year as we upgrade our network computers. I will no longer use maxtor as our prime vendor due to this personal experience.
