I bought the Quest (Maxwell Systems) Earthwork and Estimator software in 2003 for $16,000.00. They set me up with a payment program, each month after making my payment I would call them to get an activation code to keep the program working. If I did not make a payment they would not give me the code (understandable). I was told that once all the payments were made they would give me the final code and I would not have to call them for a code anymore. In 2008 I got a new computor and found out that everytime you reinstall the program it thinks that it is being used for the first time and needs a new activation code to work.

Since I had let my $1,500.00 per year Gold membership expire Maxwell Systems charged me $250.00 for the code. I recently had to get my computor repaired and needed to reinstall the software Maxwell Systems wanted another $250.00 for a new code and told me they were not sure how many more times they would be able to get me a code without updating the program another $2,000.00. I feel like I am being taken advantage of because they know how much money I have invested into this program. I would sell it but I would not feel right pushing my problem off on someone else, not to mention they would not be able to install it on thier computor without a new code. I would like to know if there are any other people out there with the same problem I am considering legal action.
