Mayan Palace Puerto Vallarta Vida Another ripoff Puerto Vallarta Other
Another time share ripoff to report. We went yesterday to the Mayan Palace and went through the same presentation as several other members have reported, and unfortunately bought something called Vacation Privileges Tier 2. When we called the number for the company, Our Vacation Centre, it turned out to be RCI which had never been mentioned in the presentation and denied any knowlege of what we might have purchased. The sales team also offered to take two other timeshares off my hands as part of the purchase price but I became suspicious after I realized the contract for that was with a timeshares sales company in Florida which I suspect to be a listing company. In short, we succumbed to a very sophisticated sales pitch involving at least seven different people over a six hour period, after which we had been told so many different pitches by so many people we had no idea what we ostensibly purchased but are quite sure it is not what we were promised. We will be pursuing all avenues to rescind the purchase so will appreciate any assistance. Please send contact info for people who may be able to assist.

Too many people are getting burned by this organization and it is too bad their marketing practices are so dishonest as it is a beautiful resort. My advice to those of you who realize they have been scammed is to send a complaint to Rip-off and to the BBB in Mexico, can't remember the name offhand but they can be very helpful. The Mayan staff monitor Rip-off so will insist you withdraw your complaint. but are more likely to cancel your contract. Also, be very cognizant of the cancellation period, and don't be put off by them saying the weekends count as business days because they are working. They do not.

I'm glad that your issue was resolved. Mine is now resolved too, but what a hassle it was to get a final solution. They completely lied in the presentation, then when we tried to cancel, they were uncooperative, unresponsive and downright rude. I finally had to hire representation to help me out of this nightmare. They were able to cancel my contract, and now I can enjoy vacations where and when I want. I highly recommend them. Mayan Palace timeshares need to be stopped!

Mayan Palace Timeshare Scam

I was convinced by Mayan Palace timeshare salespeople that an upgrade to my timeshare from Mayan Palace to Mayan Place Regency would make it easier to rent and more saleable. I entered into a contract for $6,720.00 to complete this upgrade. I have since learned that this upgrade is doing nothing for me as I try to sell and rent the unit. The list of benefits is this:Elite Reservations rental program (which I had available before),RCI enhanced pkg, certificates for cruise and vacation discounts, 50% off golf green fees (previously it was 20%), senior certificare (I'm NOT a senior), no mandatory maintenance fees after 5 years if I don't use the property?? Lots of free extra benefits and vacation bonuses but nothing tangible. I owe a cash out of $4,368.00. I wonder what the consideration of this contract is? I have all the paperwork and had to email the sales office to get a list of benefits I paid for.
