My story is the same as all the rest you have read about Mayan Resorts/Desarrollo.  They lied about almost everything.  When I found this out I tried to cancel.  It seems they have a new tactic.  Stall, Stall, Stall!

I researched everything found out that Profeco was helping people.  What I didnt realize was u only have one year to file with them.  Mayan is trying to stall people past the one year dead line.  Don't let them.

What seems to be getting their attention is filing with Profeco even if they agree to work with u.  I actually made an agreement with them then was told, after many months that the person I made the agreement with was no longer with them.  I then had to start all over again with Mr.Truzzolino.  He would not honor my agreement.

They still have my $6,580 deposit and r refusing to return it or even give me anything in exchange for it

On every bad review there's a "customer support representative" that apologizes. Shortly after the bad reviewer "rescinds any bad words" and all of their issues are magically resolved. So, are they paying people off to stop telling people how bad they are, and if that's the case wouldn't it make sense that they're paying people to write "good" reviews? This place is too sketchy-no matter how good the deal is. I'll stay away. This is a good article from Mexican Timeshare Solutions on how most of the Mayan Palace Timeshare scams are being commited:
