COTABATO CITY NEWS Cotabato City Mayor Japal Jojo Guiani Jr. and six of his men were charged by The Criminal Investigation and Detection Groups (CIDG) Special Investigation Task Group Semaof FRUSTRATED MURDER last Monday, in connection with the recent ambush to Cotabato City Vice Mayor Muslimin Mus G. Sema last January 10, 2012.CIDG Director Samuel Pagdilao Jr. said that based on witnesses accounts, investigators found that the assasination attempt on Sema had been long-schemed & that the suspects have conspired to kill Sema.The Criminal Inquiry & Detection Groups (CIDG) Special Inquiry Task Group Sema filed frustrated murder & tried murder charges against Guiani, Cynthia Sayadi & her husband Omar Sayadi, City Councilors Graham Dumama & Abdilla Lim, Barangay Chairman Amil Sula, & Police Inspector Noel L. Gutierrez, formerly the deputy station commander of Cotabato City. Police also said politics was behind the motive to kill Sema, who was a three-term mayor of Cotabato City even before they won the vice mayoralty race last 2010 elections. Sema is reportedly planning to run again for mayor of Cotabato City in the 2013 mid-term elections & that the suspects have conspired to assasinate Sema to cease him from coming back as city mayor, saidSuperintendent Leo Quevedo of the CIDG-ARMM. Quevedo said that police first responders attested that Gutierrez ordered them to search the wounded gunman Zermin Abdullah for & deadly weapon. of them recovered a mobile phone which the policeman gave to Gutierrez. Gutierrez allegedly asked officers to deny that the mobile phone was recovered if somebody asked.Insp. Gutierrez was included among those charged for deliberately witholding vital facts to the case.Sema & his companions, Jomar Ebrahim & Ramon Lubaton Jr. & escort Corporal Faigcar Sasapan, were waylaid by suspects last January ten while inside his vehicle.Sema who sustained gunshot wounds at the back of his head & at his right jaw, was rushed to Notre Dame hospital but was later transferred to Davao Doctors Hospital on the request of his spouse,Congresswoman Bai Sandra Sema.
