Complaint Review: Maytag

I purchased a Maytag washer in March of 2011, last month January 2015 it started making a loud noise on the spin cycle. I finally got around to calling them in February they said they would send someone out and they would cover the cost of parts. I would need to pay 85 dollars for the service visit and labor (unfortunately I took the 85 dollars as the repair cost on me bad translation in my head) come to find out that the labor is going to cost $200 dollars or more. I don’t have 285 dollars to spend on a 4 year old washer,

called Maytag backup complaining about it and checking to see if they would pay for it letting them know I expect that an appliance that I spend 600+ dollars on to last about 10 years. Spent about an hour on the phone escalating the call and getting more frustrated just to end up with I will need to pay the 200 dollars in labor. When the service guy was out to my house I asked if this was a common issue he said he has had to fix hundreds of these machines with the same issue. Then I turned to my computer did a search for the just the model number MHWE400WW01 between YouTube and random search engines I’ve found many of the same issues. I’m very disappointed in Maytag and will never buy another product from them again.
