On 07/21/14 I called 800-344-1274 to look into getting service on my Maytag washer. It is less than 6 yrs old and it stopped washing. It started by going off balance. It didn't matter if it was 6 towels or a dozen. When it came to the spin cycle it stopped. Apparently I spoke to a Marla and she offered me 2 options. 1) Repairman to come out and diagnos the problem for roughly $65.00 but did not include parts and labor OR I could go with the extended warranty for roughly $365 which included the diagnostic, parts, labor AND a 1 year warranty.

Originally I opted for the less price and over the course of 2 hrs I received 2 calls to set up service for Friday 07/25/14. After thinking about it and the previous cost of replacing the rubber seal ($250) I call back speaking to Courtney, canceled the original order and paid for the extended warranty. They ran my credit card and was told to expect a call to set up service. No call was ever received I called later that evening at 5:40 (800-626-4342) and was told myaccount was being sent to locating. to find s Maytag Service repairman and to allow 24-48 hrs...no calls received on 07/22/14. I called 800-626-4342 on 07/23/14 and spoke to Stacy and I flipped. She stated my account although paid was on a suspension status.

I explained that the card was ran and cleared my bank on 07/21/14 in which she told me it was a billing issue and had to call 866-730-6094, call ref#31148927. Called 866-730-6094 on 07/24/14 I believe I spoke to April. She confirmed my account was in good standing and transferred me back to the extended service dept to get service scheduled. I spoke to Norma and when she asked me a 3rd time for my phone# I suggeted she turn the volumn up on her phone and demanded to speak to a supervisor. I then spoke to Kim (alledged supervisor) she send a service order in and now the earliest appointment is on Weds 07/30/14 when I was originally quoted for Friday 07/25/14.

I explained that I am trying to potty train a puppy and have towels in need of washing asap which are now ruined and will be thrown away. I also explained that I am going in for knee surgery and can't take the dirty clothes up and down the stairs and would prefer not to recouperating in a condo that smells like pee and I am under a no weight bearing order after surgery for 7 days.

I have been given the run around and their customer service is so bad I can't even give it 1 star. I asked for a discount, partial refund OR to look at my fridges ice maker as part of the service, something to rectify this horrific and stressful situation. I was told I would have to purchase ANOTHER SERVICE WARRANTY or I could cancel the warranty (which would still leave me with a broken washing machine that is not yet 6 yrs old) I was interrupted (even by the supervisor), talked over and at but not with. I have now made about 6 calls not including transfers to get resolution. I paid for service and received headache. Substandard service, TOTAL RIP OFF.
