At first glance MBM Moving seemed to be a reputable organization, thier estimator (Christie) seemed professional and thorough.

Our first call was like any other, until the very end when she gave me a quote. I thought it odd that there had not been an onsite estimator assigned to the account, but given the size of the organization, and its affiliation with Allied Vanlines I figured that "they know what they are doing."

4 weeks and $789.00 later the move date arrived, and no one showed up.... After 4 hours on the phone with the sales department I was sent to customer service who informed me that no dispatch order had been sent and that unfortunatley I would need to wait another week.

One Week Later.... No one showed up. Late again I called and was given a lot of buck passing until they found a truck that would pick up my belongings the following morning... Enter DMV Moving and Transportation, a subcontractor for MBM Moving.

The following day a truck "clearly to small for my home" showed up and attempted to pick up my belongings. After many hours and much manual labor they left my home with all but a 600 dollar chair that has yet to get picked up and delivered per my origional agreement. I was told that "if you want it go get it yourself."

A few weeks later my belongings arrived, and as is customary my wife payed the lads to make delivery; they promptly cashed the cashiers check required. I now understand thier haste....

Returning back to our dwelling the movers began to unload our furniture...what was left of it. Also they informed my wife "after they cashed the check of course," that half of our furniture had been left in Chicago as they had run out of room on the truck.

For the purpose of this complaint I will now summarize the damage to my belongings.. Childs Crib completely destroyed. The damage was made inconspicous by the use of a sharpie marker..used to color in the complete destruction of the wood and its finish. Also NOT reassembled per my contract.

Matress Broken in Half...Yes in Half. It is now resembles sleeping on a bed of stones, that are at best unequally dispursed.

Master Bed Room Head Board.... Also colored with a sharpie marker to cover up the gashes in the finish, my 2 year old noticed this first.

Childs Train Table.. Handle broken off of drawer.

2 Brand new rocking chairs with seats broken. The moving man told my wife "they were like that when picked them up they are very old." By very old he must mean less than 12 months...and like that when picked them up means...I broke it but I am not paying for it.

Leg Broken off of living room couch. This makes sitting a bit more strenous to say the least. Side note when the furniture arrived the legs were missing COMPLETELY. When we asked to have the couch assembled (Per Agreement) we were told that if we could find the box they put the legs in the would put them on... One leg was broken off inside the couch...

Clothes lost in transit...

I am almost 100% certain I will find more damage, but I have had to spend to much time figuring out how to file a loss claim. No one at EITHER company will accept and resolve my damaged goods claims. Estimated damages are over $2000.000

It should also be said that my origional moving estimate prepared by Christie was $2700.00 my final cost was over $4200.00. Apparently when i told her of my belongings her calculator malfuntioned and deducted about 2000 lbs of my furniture.... Unethical sales practices I might guess...

Do not use these guys if you value your personal property. They are the worst kind of crooks and will destroy the things you hold dear.
