Complaint Review: Mc Master-Carr Supply Company

Mc-Master Carr is a privately owned company that promotes diversity among the work force. They claim to give equal opportunity to all new employees, but what they don't tell you is that they only say it to look good. I worked for MCM for 3 years and they never gave any supervisory positions to minorities. They only hired a few African Americans and Hispanics from Ivy League institutions and that's it.

The problem is that everyone there knows the company discriminates and they are scared to step up to the plate and press charges. From the time I was there, I noticed 90% of the few Latinos quit as they where being overlooked for any supervisory positions and treated very poorly. The owner walks around once in awhile and manages the company with fear. The company is commomly compared to the movie, "office space" where they treat employees like mindless entities but in this case, the minorities are taking a hit.
