I  had  an  oil  change  on  Friday  at  your  shop at 1106  Lincoln  Hwy ,  Langhorne and this  morning  woke up  to oil  all over  my drive way .  WHY ?   Well  a couple  oil changes ago, one of  your  mechanics  who  was  changing   the  oil , stripped  the  threads in the oil  pan but   didn't  tell  anyone   yet  sent  me on my  way.  All the  oil drained out in about  20  miles.  I limped  back  and  your  Service  Writer (John ? ) told  me  that  sad  story and said  I had  two choice-  1)- I  could PAY  FOR A  NEW OIL  PAN ( for  YOUR  mechanic's  screw up )  or   2)- he  could  install an  "After market" drain  plug at no  charge. This is all in  your  records.

The  implication was  that  the  after market  device  would  suffice.  Now  several  oil changes  later,  the  "Dealer  solution"  has failed and  my $40,000  Genesis  is  again  leaking oil., and  your  service  writer Raven  says  again  the  solution  is for  ME  to pony up a  bunch of  money to  fix your  peoples' prior  screw up !

I  asked  her  how  can she  say these  things  to me with a  "straight  face"---  her  reply-- " Oh, I  can "   Can't you  just  see  a  76-yr old  guy  (ME ) coming out  each  morning  to check his  oil level and  put in  some  extra  oil  that  he  had  to  go and  buy at the  auto parts  store ? Pretty  sight , Huh!  It  isnt going to happen So its now time  for someone to step in and accept the  responsibility  for  the  prior  mechanics basic  screw  up of stripping the  threads of  the  oil pan drain, and  that someone is your dealership.

Its  necessary  for  you  to  do what  you  should  have  done   originally  and  install  a  new  (Hyundai OEM )  oil  pan at  no  charge to me.   I  expect  your  people  to get  back to me  by  the  end of the  day, (Monday ) so  the work  can be  done  in  the  next  2  days. The  car  cannot  be  driven  far  is its current  condition   UPDATE:  On  2/22  they  offered  to replace  the oil pan at  no charge but  not  pay for  the resulting  damages, I refused to let  them work on  the  car at  all.  The  work  was  doen by someelse at  cost  pf  $427.00
