McCarrols Volkswagen Overcharged Sydney NSW
My VW Golf FSI , 65000Km old started to sttuter and the engine was missing. I took the same to MCcarrols at Waitara, Sydney because I had brought it brand new from them. They took the car for a test drive and after charging me 275 dollars as diagnostic test, I was told that the Fuel injector number 3 was misfiring and needs to be replaced. Their replacement cost was 1350 dollars. They suggested that i change all four for 3800 dollars. I took a second opinion from another mechanic and guess how much I was charged- 450 dollars all up, ie for diagnosis, a new fuel injector and the cost of labour.
MCcarols were charging me almost 3 times the cost. The diagnistic test actually doesnot take more then 15 minutes and Mccarols charged me for 2 hours. What a rip off!! If they have any shame they should return my money.
