I received an email with an attachment in PDF form.  The pdf contained two "invoices" from Trina Fedenburg of Harrisburg, Oregon, stating that McCarthy, Bugess & Wolff had been hired to resolve the matter.

The invoices were addressed to "To Whom It May Concern:"

Then there were instructions on how to voluntarily pay the invoice amount on line.

What a rip-off.  Sending invoices to people they have never done business with, and hoping that some of the recipients will actually think they owe money and then send them a check.  Since the amount is for $81.01 on one invoice, and $144.99 on the second invoice, they must get lots of small checks in.

I have never done business with anyone in Oregon, and I never incurred these expenses.

This should be investigated by the Attorney General of Ohio, and this gang of theves must be halted.

Here is the text of the letter.

This letter is being sent to allow you an opportunity to resolve this issue on

a voluntary level. In the event you choose to do so, make check payable to

McCarthy Burgess & Wolff in the amount of $144.99 and mail to this office at

26000 Cannon Rd., Cleveland, OH 44146, or pay on-line at www.mbwpay.com. If

you feel the need to discuss this matter, please contact me directly. Be

aware that action will only be held until September 10, 2009.

Thank you in advance for your anticipated cooperation.

What a scummy business.
