Avoid this company at all costs. McCarty Curtis in Ocala, Florida is the worst court reporter our office has ever had the displeasure of using. Our reporter was incompetent and kept interrupting the proceedings. The transcript copies we received were extremely poor quality. I have asked around, and sadly it seems that our experience seems to be the norm with this company. Do yourself a big favor- unless you enjoy overpaying for poor service and sub standard quality, avoid them at all costs.
They provide terrible transcriptions, bad service, and the owner is known to be a real jerk.

I was very surprised at this strong criticism of McCarty and Associates. I used Curtis as a court reporter for over 25 years around this country and in Europe both in depositions and trials. I took him with me for depositions in complex cases around the country because I always found him to be one of the most competent and cordial court reporters in the country. Accordingly, I can only assume that the criticism of his office is the result of someone who filled in when he or one of his staff were not available.
