I
needed to order McDonald's uniforms for work. Now I had spoken to a
supervisor who was Colleen (who was not very friendly) and she did not
resolve the situation.
I had previously ordered McDonald's stuff when I wasn't an employee. That was wrong
so they had a restriction put on me for that so I
applied for and legitimately got a job there. Colleen was being very
ridiculous about this. She said that I was not authorized to order that
stuff. But I am now an employee at McDonald's so I believe the reason I
can't order that stuff is based on discrimination which is against the
law.
Josh Donner in the past told me that only
operators/owners could order that stuff but I heard different from at
least 4 different employees at Barco: Everly, Jennifer Yost, Sue, and
Lauren. I really don't know what to believe anymore but if only
owners/operators can order it, I can tell one thing for sure. That Mr.
Josh Donner did not
train
the customer service representatives very well in that regard because I
am hearing different things from different Barco employees and I intend
to get to the bottom of this as I need these clothes for work
ASAP.
I wanted to be able to order online
on my own my McDonald's stuff for work. I am not a child but felt like I was being treated like one. At the orientation I wasn't even given a shirt and the pants I received were too lo
ng (they were very busy and told me to talk to my manager). When I then talked to him he said he did not have any pants there or
shirts and told me to get a copy. Which I tried to but the day after I placed the order I found it canceled even though I
specifically said
my store number I worked for and if there were any questions they could
call my manager about it. There was no contact email back about this -
I just noticed this last night on the order page, which in turn got me
upset.
Then
I tried to get this resolved earlier today and couldn't. I ran into
this mess with Colleen who I found actually lied to me and said that
Barco Uniforms doesn't ship to Wisconsin which I know very well it
does. It says it on this page:
http://www.waytobeuniforms.com/member_register
I will even quote this on here to prove my point. Wisconsin is in the Midwest and is therefore served by Barco Uniforms:

This
Colleen told me to talk to Josh Donner but due to his lack of customer
service skills I was afraid to talk to him for fear he might have hung
up on me. So I had my grandfather call him but he wasn't able to be
reached. Then my grandfather called me back and said that a woman named
"Everly" had told him it was silly that I wasn't able to order those
uniforms and that I could call and order anyways. However I am not sure
that is the best thing to do and I'm concerned that it will just be
canceled again.
This
is absolutely ridiculous as you can see what I had to go through to
order things for work for which I now don't have any and am now fired
for interacting with this ridiculous company. I
sent some emails asking the status of it and none were replied to. When
I forwarded the email to Jennifer Yost, this Josh Donner eveidently
called my boss and recommended that I be fired. This Josh Donner
doesn't know me for who I am nor does he contact back. Plus I know for
a fact that he has ripped people off in the past. So this guy with this
company did not ship the stuff I paid for and was very rude about it
too. McDonald's owners/operators and everyone else who orders uniforms
from Barco, I
highly recommend NOT to! They can get you fired from your job and even rip you off as well as be very rude.
What
I had to go through was very upsetting especially losing my job. This
company should get the mother load of complaints and go straight to
hell. I feel that strongly about it and this Mr. Josh Donner, who is a
big fuddyduddy that needs to get a life. I will be filing a separate
complaint against the specific McDonald's as well as numerous other
reports going to the media until this is resolved. I have really had
enough of this crap from Barco Uniforms!!
---------
So as you can see I feel I have been fired for no good reason at all. This manager named Bryan Wade had no right to do that based on a 3rd party email from a dumb uniforms company. All I did was forward my complaint to Jennifer Yost of Barco Uniforms saying "I would like a response please Jennifer." She evidently talked to a-hole Josh Donner and then Josh Donner of course talked to Bryan who fired me. There are 8 good reasons not to work at McDonald's:
1.) Its a like a treat me like a baby-hold-your-hand kind of job. You are always being told what to do at all times.
2.) Managers are there every second whereas I heard in other jobs they only see their boss once a month. Not cool.
3.) You cant answer the phone or even clock in unless your a
manager which is really sad. At places like Outback Steakhouse and
Fridays crew people DO answer the phone. Even Pizza Hut reps answer
the phone.
4.) You can get fired for this job for as stupid as a
reason to send a complaint to a 3rd party company which has nothing to
do with it except provide the work uniforms. Jesus Christ.
5.) You cant order work uniforms or get free meals either unless
youre a manager. They act like giving a password to do that stuff is
some kind of Secret Service decoding thing.
6.) Co workers who are teenagers act very immature for their age especially the girls who giggle like theres no tomorrow.
7.) Minimum wage job to put up with stuff like this - not worth it even though the uniforms are neat.
8.) You dont get the neat uniforms McDonalds Canada wears which are blue/gray and have a basketball jersey.
Here are the case notes:
Case notes:
1.) All I did was forward the email to Jennifer Yost at Barco saying I want a reply please Jennifer. with the original e-mail forwarded. Thats ALL what I said.
2.) I dont believe I was being bossy with that kid in his car. I know he was playing rap music and I simply cannot stand that kind of stuff. People who listen to that have no good tastes in music. Except for hip-hop stations and CHRs, no rap is played on the radio so that stuff especially the explictive things come from CDs. I also didnt know how to get home and I believe I was asking nicely. I had no other way to get home as I thought Bryan was going to be there.
3.) I dont believe I should be fired because of those things and if not resolved will file complaints with labor law companies.
I wonder why anyone would want to go through this hell. This manager is out of his mind. Not only that there was a 17 year old kid named Jake who said I was demanding trying to get a ride home. I had NO CHOICE - I was LEFT WITHOUT ANY OTHER OPTION. When I saw the manager Barry had left, I then got worried and was determined I wasn't going to be stranded. I think that part was wrong - very wrong because I did ask nicely . I know I said "we have to talk about this" but it was like they were going to avoid the issue altogether. Why worry about that stuff when working all through the shift?
True, it was a plus that they offered transportation for one who doesn't have his driver's license yet (which someday hopefully soon WILL change I am that determined), but they acted like it was way out of their way. I hate that dumb Dr. Robert Ver Wert saying in the report that I was too childish and bad social judgment to drive. He is so wrong and I am going to prove he's wrong too. I'm going to prove everyone what a big mistake they have made in treating me like dirt.
This Bryan Wade treated me like I was a little kid and talked down to me too. He was saying things that I swear have not been said. He DID NOT say to NOT contact Barco Uniforms again. All he said was apologize which I did. When I didn't get a reply back I forwarded the email and that's how I got canned. I've looked at lots of employment laws online and this doesn't seem to be the type to even fight unfort. as a lawyer would be too expensive. This isn't even a common reason to get fired. I don't know what goes on at that Hamburger University but boy they sure don't train their managers right or their restaurants! DO NOT EAT at McDonald's on Meadowbrook Dr. in Waukesha, WI! Playing basketball or listening to the radio was better than this job! Dumb Bryan Wade can stick his head in the fry pit for all I care and so can that Jake! I'm going to find a job where I am more independent and people treat me like I'm an equal ADULT. Not this kids stuff where you can't clock in without a fricken manager!
