Mcdonalds ripoff filthy and poisonous Akron Ohio

After eating a BigMac from the restaurant my son became so ill that I had to rush him to the emergency room, I was asked what he last ate because his syptoms were vomiting and severe stomach cramps, I stated that he was fine until he ate a big mac from mcdonalds.

My son spent atleast three hours lying in the hospital with an IV in his arm, Iwas sure he was food poisoned but because in Akron our childrens hospital is affiliated with the Ronald Mcdonald house I was told he was just a little dehydrated.

He has never eaten from mcdonalds again.

I'm by no means against the fast food industry as a whole, or against McDonald's. But the one on West Market at South Hawkins is... not good. They chronically get orders wrong. I used to live nearby and it was frustrating, to say the least, to get salads that were *frozen*, hamburgers that had the completely wrong ingredients on them, etc. And it takes them forever to fill orders. These aren't complaints I've had at other McDonalds establishments.

I don't think those things alone constitute any kind of a ripoff--they're just annoyances--but the overall pattern suggests to me that yes, meat being kept in unsafe conditions would be extremely plausible at that particular location. If you want fast food in the area, stop at Swenson's across the street. The only problem I've ever seen *there* is that their burgers are addictive!

Josh must be corrected ..bacteria must have 12 to 24 hours before the symptoms of food poisioning appear

An earlier post from Josh stated that bacteria must have 12 to 24 hours before the symptoms of food poisioning appear. Nothing can be further from the truth. Depending on the bacteria, symptoms of food poisioning can appear in as little as 2 hours. Strep. in food will appear in 4 hours. Food cooked at high temps will kill e-coli, but will not kill bacteria if the food worker does not wash their hands after using the restroom and re-inoculates the food. Some very serious diseases can be carried this way like Hepatitis A. My recommendation if you get sick at a fast food rest. do not ever go there again, save yourself.

Health Safety

What did the Health Department have to say about the cleanliness and food safety? You do realize that anyone is able to call the Health Department and file a report and the Health Department must go to the Business and do a health and safety check up. I am also a Serve-Safe Certified Manager and it is amazing the amount of things I found out about food safety taking that course. I can also say after working with McDonalds for 13 years we work harder to provide safe food than you do at your own home. Most people do not realize that many of these bacterias do not have to come from food, they can be transmitted from little friends they play with or toys they touch. I urge you if you have the money to take a serve-safe course. It is very informative and will really open your eyes to what might really be the problem.

mcdonald's food preparation

there is nothing wrong with the way we prepare our food. i haved worked at mcdonald's for quite a while now and noone iknow or have contact with has ever had any problems with our food as in food poisoning or salmanella poisoning.

our food is cooked to a certain temperature and kept that way. we keep food timers on constantly til they run out then we throw out the expired meat regardless what it costs our company ( or at least the one i work at follows this rule to a "t")

we keep our dress tables wiped down every 10 minutes or less to prevent bacteria. we clean our trays for meat after each one is emptied and try to practice/enforce the best hygiene that we can to all employees to help in this matter.

i know i dont like to eat mcdonald's every day but hey... i work there. is prefer homecooked meals but when your in a rush fast food is it.

Don't Eat There......If you look back at the grill area you'll see where they are cooking items like burger patties and storing them in these little plastic drawers to be kept warm until they are used on a sandwich. They also do this at breakfast time for the eggs and sausages. The problem with this whole approach is that if one food item is contaminated in the drawer then the rest of the items will become contaminated too. Also, since they do NOT wash these drawers too often the contamination can cross over into the next batch of items placed in them.

Supposedly they implemented this method of food prep because it was faster than the old method. The old method was safer. The item went from the grill to the wrapper to the warming bin. Remember, the more items it takes to make the product the higher the odds of something going wrong in the process.

As for the 24-hour delay from bacterial infections to make you sick that's partially true. Salmonella can take several days to appear and sysmptoms can range from mild to severe. In cases where the sickness is more immediate I'd suspect a chemical contamination of some type like soap or cleaning fluid.

The Ronald McDonald houses I know of are not affiliated with hospitals. They are usually built close to hospitals to make it easier for parents to get to and from to see their child.

Everybody knows by now (or should) that McDonald's and healthy dont go together and will make you sick. It is the price paid for giving up on quality in exchange for quick and cheap...

Im not an expert on food poisoning (like josh-who works for mcdonalds) but I know that when people breath something irritating- they sneeze, when they touch something hot-they flinch, when they drink a lot of beer they puke (dont take 24hrs) and when they eat at McD's they s**t. (that just takes minutes). So I would think that it dont always take 24hrs to puke up McD's crappy food..but thats just my opinion caz I dont eat there.

For more good info on McD's check out McSpotlight.org and also read about the McLibel suit.

Ever dollar you spend at McD's is contributing to the downfall of society.

Well....it might have just been dehydration....

Hmmm....deydration....definately possible. There seems to be a false notion that food poisoning can strike immediately...it can't. All bacteria requires an incubation period of at least 12-24 hours..This is the time that foodborne illness bacteria are multiplying..when enough time has passed you will feel the effects. The way this post is worded it makes it seem as tough as soon as he ate, he immediately got violently ill. It is just the timing..what had he had to eat in the past 12-24 hours? Was it McDonald's too? Doubt it. I have learned extensively about foodboorne illnesses and am ServSafe Ceritfied as well as certified by the state of Michigan in food safety. and yes, i do work for McDonald's too...
As for the comment about RMHC (Ronald McDonald House) they don't have influence on the hospitals for gods sake. I am glad you are a doctor and just "know that this is all McDonald's fault and that there is some big cover up"...I mean I am sorry your son got ill...but to blame a "McCoverup" is insane
