We have endured two years of harrassment by MCI billing associates. I cancelled service in October of 2004. I continued receiving bills well into 2005. I paid a bill for $10.68 on March 25, 2005. I then received a a collection letter dated March 28, 2005 with a different account number for $76.81. I received another collection "warning" letter from MCI dated April 15, 2005 with yet ANOTHER account number stating that I owed $16.52. I called the 800 number on the letter and explained the situation to the customer service rep, who continuously said, "how would you like to make the payment to clear up your account". She wasn't listening to me. I had ONE account with them, and that final bill for $10.58 was paid on March 25th. After three days of phone calls to the "Financials" department and three faxes to them from both my husband and myself, things were apparently resolved. The nightmare has started all over again. Beginning on January 1st, 2006, I have continuously received phone calls from MCI stating that I owe $30.00 and have been asked to resolve my bill or my account will be sent to collections. I told them I am disputing this FRAUDULENT bill, I have NO account with them, and I absolutely refuse to pay. Five phone calls a day, to me, is nothing short of harrassment. I was happy to see I am not alone dealing with this same situation. This company and their illegal practices should be investigated and shut down. If I'm not mistaken, extortion is still a criminal act.
