Complaint Review: MCI THE NEIGHBORHOOD PLAN

MCI THE NEIGHBORHOOD PLAN-FRAUDULENT TELEMARKETER - CUT MY PHONE OFF FOR CALLING LOCALLY!!!! TELEMARKETERS HARRASSED ME DAILY FROM MCI COAXING ME TO BELIEVE THEY ARE BETTER THAN VERIZON AND WOULD SAVE ME MONEY! Union Nationwide

So every night I come home from work, only to receive they annoying telemarketing phone call from MCI....One day I decide to finally listen to what they have to say. 25 dollars a month for the Neighborhood plan. Unlimited local and toll calling. Hmmm, OK I will take the bait. What's the catch I ask...No catch they say, they just want my business. So, after 10 years of having Verizon, hassle-free, I switch. BAD MOVE!!! It hasn't even been one month, and I've encountered problems.

I tried calling around the corner to a take-out place, and a recording says my call was restricted and to call their "TOLL-CALL phone number" TOLL CALL? To a place that is around the corner from my house?

I made sure to ask my friendly not older than 19 yr old telemarketer to GUARANTEE me that I would not be billed any more than 25 dollars if I placed ANY CALL within my area, INCLUDING my mother (Who I talk to the most) who lives about 10 miles away from me.

So I call MCI today and I asked them why they put a restriction on my phone, and they stated that MCI has to reassess my plan because I charged 85 dollars worth of calls to my phone already!!!

WHAT?!?!?!?!? 85 dollars? I'm barely home. Oh, my dogwalker comes to my house too, but I don't think she charged that much to my phone. I was PROMISED OVER AND OVER, because I really didn't want to leave Verizon, that my charges would be 25 dollars a month!! How aweful is it that a company could lie, LIE right to an honest consumer who was willing to listen after a hard day's of work, that I could save money. To top it off, I asked the rep, "What if there is a family emergency? I can't call anyone?" She said "I'm sorry Maam, you will have to talk to someone tomorrow morning about reassessing your plan."

REASSESS??? Wireless phone companies REASSESS. Telephone companies offer a plan, sticks by what they say, and you get billed for it. End of story. If there are any lawyers out there, this is a CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT THAT SHOULD BE STARTED.

Honest citizens like myself, with a mortgage and family and bills, should not have to suffer any more than we do just to live honestly. This is an outrage and MCI should be shut down for lies.

Oh, and another thing. I was supposed to receive a confirmation package in the mail, I never did. I guess MCI couldn't put their verbal offer in writing so that they could literally stick the bill to the consumer in the first month.

Shame on MCI. I really hope another telemarketer is ready for me when they call me again from MCI. I will give them alot more than "No thank you Im not interested."
