I signed up with MCI local and long distance service for my home about a year and a half ago and it has been nothing but trouble. While their rates were very attractive, it has not been worth it.
When I signed up, I had 2 phone lines in my house. One for voice and the other for the computer.

Needless to say they got all the features mixed up between the 2 lines and I spent 2 months of calling them to fix it. Then for no reason the caller id would stop working and I had to call them to have them turn it back on. So now they charge me to turn on what they turned off and what I had from day one. I have spent more time calling for credits to my bill than I have ever done in my entire life. Noisy lines with static that always seemed to start after the Verizon technician was down the street working on the switchbox.

I swear I think Verizon knows the lines that are MCI customers and dumps the noisy lines on us. The best was yet to come however.

I recently got a cable modem (October 2001) and had no use for the second phone line. I called MCI in October of 2001 and asked for the dialtone to be discontinued and my number disconnected. I was assured it would be done in 72 hours or less.
Well after 4 months it is STILL NOT DISCONNECTED. At first I paid the bill and called for a credit. The drones on the end of the line were sympathetic and since they could see my disconnect order they credited me on the spot. This went on until December of 2001 when I decided to deduct the $20.00 for the extra line from my total bill.

Well it tool exactly a week before I received a call from the collection dept at MCI, on a Sunday no less, demanding their $20.00. I explained my situation and was told to call the same people I had been calling for 3 months on Monday which I did.
I have had supervisors, managers, group leaders and every other drone involved and still my line is connected and being billed.

I just had ATT make me an offer I could not refuse, so I switched my primary line to ATT but left the secondary line with MCI and I will not pay another bill from here on out.

I am thinking of taking them to court for wasting my time because I am a consultant and bill at $200.00/hr and they have wasted many hours of my time.
I have records of every phone conversation, who I spoke to, their ID number and what they said.

Is this feasable?

Avoid MCI at all costs...It's just not worth it.
