i received an offer from mci worldcom for a cellular phone and like an idiot i decided to take advantage of it. i was shipped a working phone on june 20 2001 with one catch...it did not work. in fact for two months the phone would not work. i spent countless hours on the phone with them, sometimes long distance, in an attempt to correct the situation. much of that time i was on hold...i was hung up on...i was told that i would have service within 48 hours...i asked to speak to supervisora and got nothing.i was given 3 seperate phone numbers...the tech end of their outfit had no idea what was going on with my phone...i was absolutely enraged. then when they finally gave me service to a phone i really did not want but had to keep because i had a 12 month agreement...the other problems began. for two months i had no caller i.d. and to this day have no voice mail(1/15/02). both features were part of my agreement.so was free offpeak minutes. i did not receive a bill for three months then was socked for over a thousand dollars in charges. i have called three times alone disputing the bill...they told me that i have been credited the offpeak minutes but my bill continues to show the original charges. and of course the free detailed billing is just a sheet of paper stating the amount you owe and how many minutes they say you have used.i would love so much to get out of a contract that should be void anyway due to their lack of concern.tonight i was disconnected by an operator who did not seem to believe i had a problem.this company is a joke and how they continue to do business is beyond me.
