MCi WORLDCOM WIRELESS IS A RIP-OFF COMPANY
I made the unfortunate mistake of signing up for a cell phone with Worldcom Wireless in July 2001. When I received my phone, they had not given me a number in the area I stated I would be using my phone.
Furthermore, the number I had received was continuously in "roaming" even though I was supposed to have state-wide access without roaming.
I called and had my phone number changed. It should be noted it took me two days of calling customer service before I was able to speak to a person. The new number was to have been activated in August 2001. Today is January 5, 2002 and I still do not have a working cellular number.
I have repeatedly called customer service and have been promised the number would be activated within 72 hours. I requested my contract be voided because of their breach, but was told I could cancel my account if I paid them $200. This seems to be a hopeless situation. I believe a class-action lawsuit against the company should be filed.
