Just want to voice one more complaint similar to many others. I cancelled my service in October with a written letter that I was told last night "must have been thrown away." They sent me a bill in November saying they were going to cancel my service for non-payment, but still kept billing me anyway. (She said last night that was their policy; even if you have been cancelled so you cannot use the service you will continue to receive bills).

They called my home at 9:00 p.m. last night to demand payment of $93, which they somehow figure I owe since October even though I'm supposed to be on an $11/month plan. I was told that I owed that + $200 for early cancellation, even though I am 2 years into a 1-year contract.

She said I would have to fax her proof that I had a 1-year contract. I asked to talk with a supervisor and was also told no and was given the address for the "escalation department," which supposedly has no phone number.

I came online to look for some additional address info from the MCI site and came across all of these letters from others who have been similarly ripped off. BTW, MCI does have on their site a "customer bill of rights" -- "Customers have the right to be treated with the utmost respect and courtesy," "Customers have the right to discuss concerns not resolved to a customer's satisfaction with a supervisor, manager or specically trained representative," not to mention "the right to timely and accurate billing."
