Just like the other reports I have read, mine is no different. I recieved the phone in Feb 2000, had no problems. Signed up for one more year in Feb 2001 and don't know what happend?
The billing was my biggest problem, I was informed of the update and was billed quaterly until they got their billing togather. I did try to pay my bill by phone, I know I gave all of the correct information to the rep because she repeated it back. However the money never debited my account and the bill was never credited.
The phone was shut off and I was angry why did no one notify me of the problem? So I paid the past due balance, brought my self current. I learned you need to mail a check to have proof of payment because their people are not capeable of doing their job.
The service contract was up in Feb of 2002 I have been recieving bills it is now April! I called this afernoon of course I was on hold 45 minutes and I said we didnt sign the contract to renew (I had to last year). The phone is still shut off even though I am paid to date.
Her reply was it is my responsibilty to notify them that I no longer want their service. But, then she informed me that this was my husbands phone and although I am a contact person it is ok to talk to me about the account she could do nothing for me because she needed my husband to close this account. So that wait and her rude attitude was for nothing. And now he has to call and wait to close this account and it is up to the rep if they want to waive the monthly charge as it is clear the phone hasnt been used since october 2001.
I will never go through MCI again but I dont feel so bad reading the other horror stories no I know I am not alone.
