Complaint Review: MCi Worldcom Wireless

MCi Worldcom wireless ripped me off!!

I have only had wireless service from Worldcom since Oct 2001. When I signed up for this service from a local wireless distibutor, I thought I was signing up for AT&T wireless service.

Unfortunately, everything was ordered by phone, so when I was delivered my phone by mail, I discovered that it was set up throught Worldcom. However, the service that pops up on my phone says AT&T, so assumed everything was OK. Well, I didn't receive any bills until December, when I received a bill stating I was past due. I tried for 3 days to contact the customer service department, which I now know is non-existent.

I never reached anyone, so I just paid the total amount due. Then I got my February statement saying that the January payment wasn't received, which, of course, I did pay about 2-3 weeks before it was due. Again, attempts were made to contact the customer service department, but to no avail.

I am convinced that Worldcom holds statements and payments from customers on purpose in order to collect late fees.
I also have a brother with the same service, who has had the exact same problem. I now know that getting this service was a huge mistake, but I'm stuck in a contract for a year. I'm worried I won't be able to contact them at that time to cancel.
