In March of 3013 we purchased a used 2002 Beaver Marquis motor home. In 2002 this unit was top of the line. we settled on a price of $122,500.00 whis is a considerable sum for anyone.

We were informed what a wonderful coach this was in the day and still, on that part i agree.

We were given a tour of the coach and of all the different accessories and upgrades and how they all worked. during the tour we were also told everything was in working condition.

Of couse this coach is a very comlicated machine and it would take a week or a RV consultant to test everything is as they stated. We took the word of the sales manager

It was a clean deal financially and we provided a $50,000.00 dollar deposit and financed remander.

Now the story starts with the most difunctional and dishonest corporation i have ever been involved with

  • We left the coach with McMahon to clean the coach and complete the few small issues that i had noticed. we were leaving for Can ada and told them we would pick up the coach April 15, this gave them lots of time to complete
  • The struts that hold up the Cargo doors did not hold up the cargo and were not comleted
  • The Alpine communication system would no change disks in the 5 disk insert and they said it probably needed a part, it was not done.
  • The driver seat and the passenger seat had a tear in them and were patched with a tacky sticker of a lion. they spent another 2 weeks trying to figure out how to repair it, obviousl as cheap as possible
  • Numerous calls were made to Clint, sales mgr who always said he would look after it and he would report to me tomorrow, tomorrow somehow was always hid day off or he was out of town
  • After it was obviou the service manager was incompetent we picked up the coach and i decided it was not worth the aggravation of dealing with these people any longer
  • On our first 3 days in Silent Valey RV Club the surprises started
    • The grey water drain from the sink was not connected which we discoverd when we noticed water all over the parking pad, washed dishes in bathroom sink
    • Upon breaking camp the Chassis batteries would not start the engine so had to use the boost button which incorporates the coach batteries. after having the batteries tested they were all dry which means they sent a customer out on the road with no water in any batteries, this is after they said they had tested everything to be sure all were working and in good condition. the cost replace batteries in this coach was $1,100.00
    • On our first trip we also discovered we had no hat water, the coach is equipped Aqua hot which provides hot water to all sinks as well as the coach is heated with hot water system. this is a $15,000.00 upgrade back then. we had no hot water because the system did not work. again an independent RV repairman discovered that the diesel heating system was not functioning. This repair was $350.00. During our tour of the coach they showed us the insta hot which is a small plug in at the sink and hold about 1.2 gallon of hot water
    • After trying out the televion on antenna we found that the antenna would go up but it would not go down, it is a power antenna that had previously been stated to service mgr at McMahon who said that antenna was no longer available and he would look into it, never heard from him again

In closing it would be my suggestion to anyone looking at a used RV that you spend a little extra and have that person confirm all is working. the coach is a very grand coach and it really spoils things when you continually find things not working and realize you had been fleeced by the sharks at McMahon RV working
