I completed transcription work for Stephanie McMeel over the summer of 2009.  Each time I turned in a transcript, I was told how great my work was and offered more audio to transcribe.

Our payment arrangements were Net 30, meaning she was supposed to send payment 30 days after receiving each invoice.  In August, she stopped paying me.  As of today, February 2, 2010, my most overdue invoice is 175 days late.  Ms. McMeel owes $599.75 to me.

She states that she has not received payment from the company SHE received the audio from, but our agreement was not, "I will pay you when I get paid."

Communication has been sketchy at best, and more often than not, my emails to her end up "lost in the spam filter."  Interesting how that can happen since none of my files which were attached as WordPerfect documents ended up "lost."

Throughout this whole almost-six-month period, she has been claiming what a hard time she is going through and that she doesn't have anything to send, not even $10 bucks toward reducing the outstanding invoices.  Ms. McMeel has most recently told me to talk to her bankruptcy lawyer, but refuses acknowledge any emails requesting his or her name and address so that I might communicate with them.

On January 10th, she has stated that she has nothing else to say to me and stopped responding to my emails requesting information about when I can expect to see my money.
