Complaint Review: Meathead movers

 Shame on meathead movers ! In 58 years I have never delt with a more shady company! Never have I been lied too so many times , overcharged , job not completed etc etc. 1st.they do not use college students , certainly not the ones that showed up at house 1 hour late. 2nd. They under quote the job just to get it then then add on ever item separate. This happens at the finish of the job!! Meathead movers gave me a quote to move me from Paso Robles CA to Monterey CA area . I ended up getting a very good start on the move and in fact did to 16 ft truckloads before they showed up ! I called them to adjust the quote with no response.. the movers 4 showed up 1 hour late giving Amy and myself another hour of work the movers did not do. In less than 2 hours their truck was loaded along with mine. I set off to Monterey as did meathead. I arrived in Monterey 1 hour beforehand and had most my truck empty. Upon meathead arrival only one employee was in the truck?! I asked where the other 3 went he did not want to answer. He did say they were getting a guy from Fresno to drive over? Since I had to get my truck back by 5 pm we finished unloading the truck with the help of one employee. Then we began unloading the meathead movers truck. Amy, myself, and one meathead employee... With just 4 items!!! left to unload the Fresno guy shows up They do so in about 15 minutes max I was charged for all his travel time etc... After unload I was told how much extra I was being charged for wrapping etc ? By no it was past 5 pm and I would be paying the extra for my uhaul truck. Thanks meathead. I refused to pay the bill as it was over $3000.00 And not what was quoted. Plus I had done 3/4 of the job! They finally adjusted the bill with fuzzy math that did not add up. I took their numbers corrected them with their hours they gave me and paid them that amount. Over $1600.00 for 4 guys to work 2 hours and one guy to work 9 hours and of course the Fresno guy 15 minute of work. 4 months later meathead movers sends me to collections With no warning letters , in fact the collection company had my old address. I will only hope to go to trial or court with this ripoff company as no one should have to deal with this kind of fraud. Meadhead movers is a terrible business!
