After weeks of trying to straighten out meds lost in the mail (7 phone conversations, 2 trips to the pharmacy) I finally asked to speak to a supervisor about the problems I was having with cancer and thyroid hormone replacement drug refills. After numerous attempts to straighten out the problem and being assured by multiple people that the prescriptions were being filled and shipped, I finally went to the local Walgreens to pick up an 'override' prescription when I ran out completely.  While standing at the counter, the Walgreens pharmacist called Medco to find out why I was being asked to pay full retail for the drugs.  I had just been told by a Medco representative that they would handle the refill override on a priority basis and would call Walgreens direct.  I left and returned home and called Medco.  Amazingly, Denise Williams at Medco asked me if I 'would like to talk to a pharmacist about the effects of not taking the drugs'.  I still can't believe it!  I plan to contact Blue Cross Blue Shield to let them know about the gross negligence and incompetence of their pharmacy insurance partner.  If Denise Williams is following protocol, there is something seriously awry with this mail order pharmacy selected by a major health insurance carrier.  If you see Medco's logo on your insurance card, beware.
