MEDICAL SERVICES GROUP I was scammed by a person named Rachel who worked for Medical Services Group The phone numbers area code is the Sacramento area California ( from phone # area code) nationwide
On 7\20\2017 at 6:51 I was awakened from my nap by my phone ringing it was a lady named Rachel from a company called MEDICAL SEVICES GROUP she sounded Asian . She wanted some information so she could send me some pain cream & lotion.
She already had my name, my address, my birth date, my phone number & she knew enough about me and my health issues along with the fact that I was waiting for phone calls for medical appointments &I had discussed topical pain creams with my PCP at my last appointment. I thought the call was legitimate.
Unfortunately I answered her questions . She asked me what insurance I had, the name of my Primary care doctor, and the last 4 digits of my social (I cant believe I was stupid enough to this give information)she had me verify all the info she had and said to tell my PCPs office that I had spoke to them about ordering the cream if they called me and hung up.
Now I’m fully awake & thinking about the call.I had a bad feeling I shouldn’t of given the information to “Rachel”. I looked up the name and phone number I saw 1 link to MEDICAL SERVICES GROUP,located in the UK. The other links where to scam pages. After reading a few complaints on THE RIPOFF REPORT page I knew I had been scammed.
I CALLED BACK THE NUMBER I HAD (916) 318-7102 which I thought was a Sacramento number and when told my choices hit #1 on phone to speak with a representative was put on hold I ended up hanging up because no representative answered I called again and pressed #2 to leave a message & have them call back. They didn’t call back so I called in the morning and the line is busy so I looked up “what to do if you are scammed” so I’m doing what is recommended. I just hope something bad doesn’t happen because of my stupity
