The Medicare Advantage Program has no management or Congressional Oversight.. no agency or legislative entity pursues the fraudulent use of taxpayer funds via an Advantage Program Insurance Company enrolling Medicare recipients and not providing care.  Conversations with Whitehouse, my Congressional Rep.. AARP Program Director, CMS/Medicare Ombudsman has  not received any attention... or even a concern that Advantage Program Companies get Federal Funds whetehr they provide services or not and once an enrollment period has lapsed, no one will allow enrollment with another company to obtain access to services.  This problem has existed since I first enrolled 5 years ago, and in differnt states... 5 different plans.. and all the same:  fraudulent provider directories.. IE no provider is obligated to allow you access to services... even if the plan specifies HMO or PPO. Even in our current election year, neither party addresses this "freebie" of taxpayer money that companies get without rendering any service access.  Medicare Ombundsman replied to my request to s**t in mid-year that I was "stuck" until "open Season" not with standing the fact that my Plan's local in-network provider refuses to accept patients.  Another example of America not working.. and companies allowed to get US Treasury $$$$ and not having to deliver anything but good intentions. My Local Congressman... a Republican (Rep Hurt).. has expressed no interest in resolving this aspect for me.. discussed it in a "lip service" mode but no follow up actions.. meanwhile, I am forced to await open season and January 2013 to have access locally with another company.  Even a White House staffer rendered lip service to the problem, just to make me feel good I think.. no follow up actions. Bottom line:  Business as usual inside the Beltway, where the money goes to be redistributed to our noble Medicare Advantage Insurance Companies... as some sort of entitlement.
