I am on SSDI and am eligible for Medicare. I signed up for this company's plan in November of '05, plenty of time to have all of the paperwork in and to avoid having the state sign me up for a plan as I am on medicaid too. Well, I recieved notice that I was signed up with Medicare Complete by United Healthcare and began using it in Jan. of 2006. Things were going fine, I filled my regular perscriptions at the beginning of March (3/05/06). Well, around the 15th of that month, I became sick with bronchitis and required antibiotics, I went to get the perscription filled and found out my policy was CANCELLED!! This is a policy through Medicare, there was no premium for me to pay, so I know that wasn't the reason. So I called up the company, they said that Medicare cancelled the policy, I promptly called Medicare and was told that they didn't cancel it, it was cancelled by the company, but that medicare would pay for the antibiotics. I kept trying to get the perscription filled, but I was never able to get it filled. I never did find out why my policy was cancelled and I ended up not having insurance for the rest of March or the entire month of April because it was after the first half of the month and I wasn't able to sign up soon enough to start insurance for the next month to be able to have it. So, if you have insurance with this company, and it's through Medicare, you may want to verify it's good for the full year.
