I was called by MedPlan in the beginning of October 2000. They told me about a plan where I could get discounted health care and prescriptions and told me all I needed to do was give them my checking account number to verify that I had a bank account and they would send me an information packet. They told me that they wouldn't charge the account until after 35 days or until I had used the card to obtain a discount.

About 1 week after I received the plan info I noticed that my statement had been charged the fee of $249.00 almost instantly after they hung up the phone with me.

So I called and asked for a refund. They told me that it would take 90 days to receive a refund and as of today, March 6th 2003, I have not received anything.

I have called them over 2 dozen times over the past year and I have gotten yelled at by customer service people who have insisted that the refund had been processed and was in the mail, told that I would be called back by a manager over a dozen times, never to have received a call and basically frustrated and stressed out over the whole situation.

I never approved for them to charge my account and yet they did.

I kindly asked for a refund and they ignored me.
It has been well over a year and I am still fighting with them.

The latest and greatest is that now when I try to call them, their number is disconnected?

Basically, they took advantage of me while I was vulnerable due to a recent state of unemployment at the time and the fact that they took my money without authorization really hurt me at the time.
