This woman hires medical transcriptionists as independent contractors. She has another full-time job at a local hospital. Her otherwise unemployed husband serves as her part-time courier, bookkeeper, and payroll clerk.

Medworks prefers to be billed monthly, then will pay the invoices the following month. I requested bimonthly invoicing with payment due net 14 days, to which they agreed.

Receiving payment became more and more of a problem, and after finally getting payment for one delinquent invoice, I received the dreaded news from my bank that they could not collect on the check for a full ten days after deposit. This scenario created a s****.> Medworks gave me the excuse that they had not been paid by the client, and when they were, then I would get my money.

After they became delinquent with three (3) invoices, I declined to do any more work for them. As a consequence, they have not paid on any of my three outstanding invoices, totalling over $1,000.00.
