Okay here goes.

In January I was surfing the net for an application for Capital One Master card when I came across an add from Canadian Lenders Association. It looked authentic so I filled out the form. Three or four days later I got an email saying that based on my application I had been preapproved for a loan of $5000.00. I asked if I could get a lower amount and the answer was no.

They asked for a pay stub, void check and a utility bill showing my address. Faxed those and that afternoon I received an email saying that I had been approved and to fill out the attached agreement and send back via Express Post with a money order or cash in the amount of $500.00 to secure the loan.

If I sent cash I would get the funds deposited within 1-2 days.
Money order would take longer.

Recived email came saying that funds received and would be deposited Feb 27. Just before the 27th got another email saying that the lender had encountered some financial difficulty and could not conform to the terms and conditions laid out by Mega City Services. I was asked not to contact the lender as they no longer had access to my file... I still don't know who the lender was.

Then I was to be put back into the pool awaiting a new lender and/or return of my deposit whichever came first.

On March 12 got an email saying that my refund had been mailed.

Today is March 21. Refund has not been received and I am unable to get in touch with anyone at the company.

Voicmails are full and one person is out of the office until the "14 of March." This is the 21st.

If I should get the refund within the next day or two I will certainly let you know.

Mega City Services Applied online for a loan of $5000.00. Got an email back saying that I was preapproved, sent money order and was told that funds would be deposited on Feb 27/07. Received email saying lender had financial difficulties. Asked not to contact lender because they no longer had access to my file. Don't know who lender is. Put back in pool . Was notifed by email on March 12 that my deposit had gone in the mail that morning at 8 a.m.

Week & 2 days later no refund. Unable to reach anyone. VM full-no email responses.
